Associate of Applied Science - Transfer Degree (AAS-T)

The Associate of Applied Science - Transfer (AAS-T) degree in Allied Health helps students advance their education and career training in the healthcare field.

This degree is for many types of students: students who have already earned a healthcare certificate and want career advancement; students who are interested in starting a career in healthcare through a dual degree program; and students who are planning to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program in Community Health & Education or Healthcare Services Management.

Students will develop a rounded education in the health sciences while learning to deliver healthcare as part of a team and improving communication and patient advocacy skills.

Students will complete 90 credits of coursework, earning an Associate of Applied Science - Transfer (AAS-T) degree in Allied Health. Completing this program prepares graduates for quick entry into a variety of high-demand healthcare careers or to transfer into an applied bachelor's degree (BAS) program to continue their education.

  • Develop academic background in the health sciences so student can locate and understand theoretical underpinnings of their scope of practice or specialty within Allied Health.
  • Appreciate the role of scientific inquiry and the changing nature of evidence based medicine.
  • Improve ability to work effectively as a member of health care teams and to better understand how Allied Health professions contribute to health care delivery.
  • More effectively advocate on behalf of patients to diverse health care practitioners and patient care teams.
  • Improve oral and written communications, spoken communication, critical thinking, and quantitative analysis to reflect college mastery at the Associate's level.

  • Hybrid courses provide students with the scheduling flexibility of fewer campus visits while covering the same materials as an equivalent class held entirely on campus. Hybrid classes usually have at least one on-campus meeting per week combined with a "virtual classroom" with online content, lessons and activities.
